Welcome to my Anime Fic Contest

Now that you're here, I should probably explain some
things about it to you. (Note: I'm bad at writing these, so please bear with me.)
Currently, I'm still in the process of feeling out the rules and prizes, but I'm up for
suggestions, and will be done with that soon. Only one of the anime crossed over must be
obscure. Non-crossovers are now eligible as well, so long as the anime is obscure.
Note: The definition of obscure for our purposes will be: Anime that the general public
may not as of yet be aware of, i.e., Trigun, Fruits Basket, Excel Saga, possibly even Inu
Yasha and Yu Yu Hakusho, etc. See the 'Non Obscure anime'
list for more ideas on that topic.
Rules (as in most fanfic submissions):
1. Before posting a story, READ ALL RULES. If you do not comply with the rules
submission(s) will be deleted. How will I know? I'm just good like that.
2. Stories may be nominated by anyone - including, but not limited to the author.
3. An author may have unlimited stories submitted.
4. Stories may compete in only one of the two categories.
5. Nominated Fics MUST be posted in the body of the message, not attached. Too many virus'
floating around and I don't feel like being clean up crew. Risk the safety of anyone
reading them, especially me, and I will forward the e-mail back to you and delete you from
the face of the planet! (or at least this ML)
6. (Addendum to #5) Links to hosted fics are now accepted, but attachments are still out.
7. Minimum requirements when nominating:
Name of fic
[ I sort of need this ]
Name of author
[ Really need this ]
Name of nominator
[ If not the author ]
E-mail address of author
[ How else can you win? ]
E-mail address of nominator
[ Virus
protection Crew ]
Category
[ I don't have the time to sort them ]
Any necessary warnings
[ Ex. Yaoi, Hentai, Rabid Rodent, etc. ]
Fic posted in the body of the message (or a link provided)
Email addresses do not need to be posted, but let me know so It doesn't go up
accidentally.
Remember, I have a checklist and this is a contest. If anything is missing, I won't
hesitate to pull out the same bazooka that killed Excel and blow the submission off the
net. (*Karasu wonders if she should have let Jax see 'Excel Saga' when she was over
last…*)
8. This is not the presidential election of the USA people. That means nominated
selections that win cannot run for a second try in the same contest. Again, this
means… no re-nominations of winners, what-so-ever. I will compile the list of winners
after the contest is over.
9. Anyone may vote on the stories, including those who have entered this contest - And for
the sake of tackiness, let's not vote on our own stories.
10. This is NOT a popularity contest - That's what Miss America is for. Vote for quality,
not who you know.
11. If you win, you have the option of being posted in a 'hall of fame' that I will be
building shortly to go along with this contest.
Only text files (*.txt) or html files (*.htm,*.html) are acceptable for
archiving. I will accept only attachments for the winning posts. Any that are sent to me
in the text of an email will be obliterated off the face of the planet.
Sending links to already posted fanfiction is also acceptable.
12. No incomplete-multipart-disillusioned-crossover-altUniverse-"oh I am so sick of
life, I'm going to off my self"-"push the damn self destruct
button"-"this is not my universe and what am I doing in a dress?" stories
will be accepted. Sorry guys, it just makes things confusing to some people and pissed me
off when I'm left hanging there waiting to the rest of a "I don't think I'm going to
finish" story. Try next year…when it's COMPLETE!

(Note: for those of us who don't speak Jax's language, that was: "No incomplete
stories" - Alternately, AU, and obviously, crossovers will be happily accepted.)
13. Lemon scenes? WARNINGS PEOPLE, POST WARNINGS! Fics containing lemon must be marked in
the heading with [Lemon], and don't forget that [Legal Babble] No one under the age of 18
will be permitted to read/judge lemon stories.
14. This is my world and in it no one wins by default. There must be at least four
nominations in a category by the deadline, or that category will be deleted.
15. Nominees have the right to deny nomination of one or all of their works for any
reason. Hey, you wrote it, it's your baby. You get to choose what school it goes to. (If
the grammar is bad, I'm assuming it was public school…)
16. Once a nomination is received, a confirmation e-mail will be sent. If the confirmation
e-mail bounces like my checks, the e-mail address will be deemed BAD and the nomination
will be deleted.
JUDGING
The winner…
Will be determined by who gets the most votes,
after the deadline has passed. This will be done either through yahoo, or another
free service (so no one has to recount the votes...*cough* [Florida] ;) and posted by me.
The overall winner will be voted separately, after all the other voting is over. If there
is a tie, then both nominees win. End of story.
